Vauxhall Combo-e announced

Vauxhall Combo-e Motor/Battery

The new Combo-e comes as standard with a7kW single-phase on-board charger and an 11kW three-phase as option . It also supports the standard array of charging alternatives from a domestic three-pin plugs to 100kW rapid charging, with the AC charging obviously dependent on the on-board charger size. Using a 100kW DC public rapid charging station, the 50kWh battery can receive an 80% charge in just 30 minutes..

Vauxhall Combo-e Range

The new Vauxhall Combo-e has a 171 miles range to the WLTP combined from a single charge, and this can be further improved by the regeneration braking system which has to levels of regeneration for maximum energy recovery.

Of course one of the main issues with electric vans is organising the charging and SKY appears to have this very much under control with its Osterley facility now boasting 95 chargers, although they are continuing to install more chargers at more sites. Interestingly the vehicle will all be charged using renewable energy sources at on-site charging points.

Vauxhall Combo-e Loadspace

The Combo-e has the same cargo area dimensions as the diesel version which means it has two load lengths with the short wheelbase (L1) measuring 4.40m long with a 2,785mm wheelbase and has a maximum load length of 3,090mm.

The long wheelbase (L2) measures 4.75m long with a wheelbase of 2,975mm. Inside, load volume is extended to 4.4m3 with the L2H1 able to accommodate objects up to 3,440mm in length via the flex cargo system.

Combo-e Payloads

With a maximum payload of up to 800kg and load volume of 3.8m3, the Combo-e is also rated to tow up to 750kg.

Combo-e Cab environment

Inside, owners can also get a large eight-inch touchscreen with Multimedia Navi Pro and Multimedia Radio. All Combo-e variants come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are a number of safety features available on the vehicle including driver drowsiness alert, traffic sign recognition and recommendation, forward collision alert with pedestrian protection and automatic emergency braking. There’s also a Surround Rear Vision – a 180-degree rear camera that helps drivers when reversing and protects cyclists and other vulnerable road users when turning left by alerting the driver. It also has an innovative Overload Indicator that alerts drivers when the vehicle load is near the maximum payload capacity, and warns them when exceeded. A Flank Guard uses sensors to avoid costly dents and scratches when manoeuvring.
