New Renault Kangoo announced

Vauxhall Combo-e Motor/Battery

Renault PRO+, which is the commercial vehicle arm of the Renault Group have announced the first details of the All-New Renault Kangoo which has been rumoured for a year or two and will be on sale during 2021.The Kangoo is an important vehicle for Renault as its helped the company to be the European leader in vans since 1998 for 21 consecutive years, with over four million sold since 1997.

Of course, the Kangoo has been a great seller for Renault not just here in the UK but across Europe and just like its predecessor it retains the very bold front grille with a larger somewhat oversized familiar Renault logo. Its also been enhanced and upgraded in the key areas with a completely new interior and significant advances in infotainment and driver assistance systems.

Kangoo all electric version

Renaults electric version of the Kangoo, the Kangoo Z.E. has made a major contribution to the manufacturer’s standing as one of the leaders in the electric LCVs market in Europe for the last nine years. Indeed, since its introduction in 2011, the Renault Kangoo Z.E. has been the best-selling electric commercial vehicle in Europe with over 50,000 sold to date.

It therefore will come as no surprise considering the inevitable move we are making from diesel to electric, the new Renault Kangoo range will include a 100 per cent electric version. The bumper to bumper zero emission van will not compromise on the cubic capacity of the diesel version as the battery is fitted underneath the floor.

Renault PRO+ vehicles account for nearly one in two electric LCVs sold in Europe and Renault is committed to electrify its entire range of vans by 2022.

New Renault Kangoo Overview

As mentioned in the introduction, the Kangoo has a totally redesigned front end but still retains the familiar chrome and black style grille and bumper.

A completely new interior brings in many style cues from their passenger car range, the main feature dominating the cab is a new horizontal dashboard that has a stylish appearance. The Renault team have also completely redesigned the seats helping to provide, according to Renault, greater comfort and durability.

New Renault Kangoo Technology

Renaults EASY LINK system will be at the heart of the infotainment / multimedia system, and there will a number of new driving aids such as the Permanent Rear View digital interior mirror. This technology recently seen on a number of new vans last year provides excellent rear visibility where a bulkhead obscures natural rear-view vision. Whilst not speficfied currently Renault also promise a ‘ host of new Advanced Driver Assistance Systems’.

The new generation model will be available in two lengths. It offers a highly useful volume of 3.3m3 to 3.9m3 in the standard van and from 4.2 mto 4.9 min the longer version. It will be produced in Groupe Renault’s Maubeuge factory in France.
