Vauxhall Vivaro-e still best selling electric van

It probably comes as no surprise that the Vauxhall Vivaro-e electric van retains its top spot as the UK’s best-selling electric van according to the latest registration figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Of course, to be the best selling electric van doesn't take too many sale / registrations currently compared to diesels as they have just sold 2,473 units for the whole year. This compares with average total annual registrations in the light commercial vehicle sector of between 350,00 and 450,000 units but it has to be acknowledged that the whole sector is suffering from supply issues across the board so all figures must be taken with 'a pinch of salt' until well into 2023.
James Taylor, Acting Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “The Vivaro-e electric van continues to be the go-to choice for fleets and businesses after an efficient and capable zero-emissions van. As Vauxhall continues to electrify Britain’s businesses, the e-LCV sector is quickly growing, and it’s fantastic to see the Vauxhall Vivaro-e remain the go-to model for those making the switch to electric.”
Since its launch the Vivaro-e electric van has collected a series of accolades from ‘Medium Van of the Year’ at the What Van? Awards 2022 to ‘Best Medium Electric Van’ at the Driving Electric Awards 2022, of course it was also voted ‘International Van of the Year 2021’.
With a WLTP range of up to 205 miles and a maximum payload of up to 1,226kg, the Vivaro-e electric van is at the forefront of Vauxhall’s commitment to electrification, as the brand continues its electric vehicle expansion with the goal of offering an electrified variant across its model line-up by 2024, and to offer only fully electric cars and vans in the UK by 2028.
