Ford Transit Custom specifications

There are now four trim levels available on Ford’s mid-size van, the Transit Custom, so deciding which is best you could be a struggle. Ford Transit Custom specifications vary from the entry-level ‘Leader’ to the flagship ‘Sport’ trim.

Vans are becoming more and more luxurious with each generation. Ten years ago, Ford offered just two trim levels on the Transit and now there are four. Our specifications guide lists all the kit you can expect to find on each model.

‘Leader’ trim level

The new entry-level trim, the ‘Leader’, replaces to the ‘Base’ and is largely aimed at fleets who want a cost-effective van at minimal cost. This only includes basic level equipment on both the inside and outside to keep the costs down like central-locking, 15-inch steel wheels, a side loading door and 4.2-inch TFT display with a DAB radio.

Next up from the Leader is the Trend. This model looks more attractive on the outside thanks to body-coloured bumpers and door mirrors and plastic wheel trims. On the inside, there is slightly more luxury with an 8-inch touchscreen display, an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat and cruise control. Again, a full breakdown below:

The Limited very much has a premium feel to it. There is now a chrome surround on the grille, body-coloured side mouldings, 16-inch alloy wheels, while there are heated seats and air conditioning inside. The image below shows the full specification:

‘Sport’ trim level

Sitting at the top of the pack is the Sport, offering the best of all the Transit Custom trims. As the name suggests, this gets an athletic look thanks to the styling kit which comprises of front lower bumper skirt, side stripes with Transit branding, body-coloured side skirts and 17-inch alloy wheels.
