VW Transporter dimensions

All VW Transporters have a standard load width of   , and this is reduced to   between the wheelarches. The load height (the distance between the load deck and the roof) is 1,410mm on the low roof and 1,940mm on the high roof.

N.B. Short wheelbase (SWB) = L1, long wheelbase (LWB) = L2, low roof = H1 and high roof = H2.

VW Transporter SWB dimensions

Short wheelbase versions of the Volkswagen Transporter are only available with the low roof. The wheelbase measures 3,000mm long, there is a maximum load length of 2,572mm and a load volume of 5.8 cubic metres.

VW Transporter LWB dimensions

The VW Transporter long wheelbase (LWB) is available with both the low and high roof option. This model is based on a 3,400mm wheelbase, has a maximum load length of 2,975mm and has a load volume of either 6.7 or 9.3 cubic metres, dependant on whether it has the low or high roof.

Access – rear and side load doors

There is a nearside side loading door included as standard on all models (Sportline models have twin side loading doors as standard). The side doors measure 1,017mm wide by 1,282mm high on all models, although the high roof models can be specified with a 1,017mm by 1,734mm high door. The standard fitment on panel vans is rear barn doors which measure 1,473mm wide by 1,305mm high.

The loading, or sill, height (distance between the ground and the load floor) is 568mm, but this is reduced to 566mm on the load wheelbase due to the extra weight of the body. Short wheelbase models have a turning circle of 11.9 metres and this is increased to 13.2 metres on the long wheelbase.
